TanyaS: I'm in a LOT of pain. If I can do something safe to help the baby do what he/she is supposed to do naturally, I'm going to do it. There's a big difference between starting labor (triggering contractions) before your body is ready, and helping it to GET ready (so labor starts on it's own). There are dangers to birthing before your body or baby are ready, but there are also dangers in being very overdue and labor not happening naturally (the way it's supposed to).

keeptryst: I just finished reading that article, but I have to say that I disagree with a lot of it. Especially in the case of the baby who didn't make it. While yes, it sounds logical that some of these things can happen, induction or not it could happen anyway. In that specific case, it sounds to me like there was something else that caused the death that wasn't mentioned, and it was just blamed on the use of induction via castor oil.

Also, I get very suspicious when I read articles like that and they don't claim their source. Almost everything I read I could argue (and I've done a LOT of research).

That said, I think it's a good article to read regardless... but I also think that EVERYTHING you read online (especially without being backed up with credible sources) should be taken with a grain of salt.

Including this thread. Keep your babies safe.

Do you have a treadmill or somewhere you can safely walk? A long, slow walk might help - I have a friend who was facing induction and walked for two or three hours and had her baby that night. It's not surefire, but it can't hurt either.

sgmom, good point. It's good to get all possible perspectives on an issue from a variety of sources and then make a judicious balanced decision that feels right for you.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to poopoo on your link. I believe that doing the research and making a balanced decision is very important. And ALWAYS know your source.

Still pregnant, and not too happy about it at all. I read somewhere that stress can release adrenaline into your system, which does the exact opposite of oxytocin. So I'm trying REALLY hard to relax. My partner took our daughter out this afternoon, so I stayed home and watched funny clips on youtube, took a hot bath, and now I'm debating going for a drive to maybe get something to eat.

I'm feeling alright, but it's hard to get past the anxiety of "GET OUT NOW". lol! I'm horribly uncomfortable as it is. I can't even imagine being pregnant for another 3 weeks (like I did with my daughter - she was 2 weeks late).
