we got dd to tilt her head back for us in the tub!

after almost 2 years of struggling with DD to let us rinse her hair out in the tub (and going many many days with dirty hair), we finally figured out a way to do it and i just wanted to share with everyone. after lathering, we hold a mirror up so she can see her hair and move it up so she tilts her head to see herself. it worked so well - she giggled and laughed the whole time and we got all the shampoo out! yipeee!

We put glow in the dark stars, moon and planet stickers on the ceiling. Some times it works, sometimes the hair doesn't get washed.

Love the mirror Idea! Thanks.

That's a great idea! At 15 mos we still don't have enough hair to really wash, but I'm keeping it in mind....

Good idea. We stuck suction cup ducks to the wall and tell her to look at the duck. Well, I do. DH just dumps the water over her head.

Great idea - I'll keep this one in mind.

DS is younger than your LO, but here's what works (so far) for us - I put my hand under his chin, push up gently, & say "Up, up, up! Look at Mama." while pouring the water. I keep my hand there & have to say "up" A LOT, but it works! We may use the mirror trick, too!

Washing our 3 yo old's hair has always been a nightmare. So, surely going to try this. Thanks. Maybe a yr or more ago I tried another tip I'd read about somewhere - we stuck a picture of a Dolphin up on the ceiling of the bathtub and would try and get her to look at it when rinsing. But, it didn't really work for too long.
