toothpaste

I loved the Melaleuca toothpaste and since we ran out I bought Tom's cinnamint for dh. I hate it! It burns my mouth and just tastes gross to me.
I prefer a toothpaste with flouride as I have sensitive teeth and not cinnamon.
What do you recommend?

I love Toms anti-cavity (the spearmint flavor). Yum!

I love the cinnamon one, but couldn't find it last time.

I'm way too lazy, but if you're up for it, you could just make a baking soda paste with mint leaves (keep a mint plant near the sink)

floride is not needed in toothpaste and can be dangerous esp. where children are around. it takes only 8 tsp. of florinated toothpaste to become toxic enough for a 25# child to need charcoal treatment. Take this from a mom who never was concerned, but planned on eliminating florinated tp out of the home once it was all gone due to the toxin and unnecessary factor of floride. w/that said im' not a fan of mela for personal reasons, but did like thier tp. i will not use them again. i am thinking of trying http://www.herbalremedies.com/gsedengel45o.html since i've made "homemade" tp w/o gse and LOVED it far better than i ever liked mela. i'm talking NO MORNING BREATH!!! and smooth teeth all day no matter what. NOW I'm not sure if it was the gse or just the combo of stuff I used in my own recipe, but since I couldn't get my recipe to not seperate i gave up on that idea. just another option.

I love the Jason PowerSmile.....its the yummiest natural kind that we have tried. Dh likes it too.

I use Jason Healthy Mouth, and I love it. It has a tea tree oil and slightly clove-ish flavour. It does have fluoride though (not a huge deal because there are no kiddoes around here).

I have heard of people brushing their teeth with coconut oil too, but haven't tried it yet. I may work up the nerve to use BS as I've been converted to using it to wash everything else (thanks to the no-poo movement, lol!)

Peace,

I use Burts Bees Lavender Mint toothpaste. My mouth has never felt cleaner!! I like the smoothness my mouth has after too.

I am thinking of making my own after this.
For those of you who make your own, do you just store it in a glass jar???

I use Tom's of Main toothpaste for sensitive teeth w/out the floride, and it's working pretty well for me.

For a while I used baking soda with some EO blended in. It worked really well! We moved this summer and I haven't done it since though.

i'd like to make my own. anyone have any recipes?

FYI-i've heard that glycerin is REALLY bad for the teeth, even though they all have it in it. apparently it puts a film on the teeth that messes with their natural ability to heal themself. or something like that.

My kids use Spry toothpaste because it has Xylitol in it. The kids tell me it doesn't burn.

Here is a link that someone posted at some point that I added to my favorites because I thought it was so interesting.

We are in the process of changing a few things about our dental hygiene around here. We bought the Dr. Bronners about a week ago.
