SMELLY diapers (and rash)! HELP

We've been using our BumGenius AIO/One Size for well over a year now. We've gone through spurts where they would get stinky (ammonia smell after dd pees) and I'd strip them and they'd be better, but lately I feel like they just aren't getting clean. They have a faint stinky smell when I'm taking them out of the wash and then they smell again when dd pees.
We switch between Charlie's Soap and Arm and Hammer (the natural no additive one). I also put in some Ecover Non Chlorine bleach when I'm trying to strip them. And we normally rinse at least 2-3 times. The past wash I even added some baking soda after the first rinse and rinse again and hung them on the line but still a stink after she pees?!?!

What can I do to get the diapers REALLY clean?

Also, twice in the past month my dd has gotten a really strange "rash" while wearing her diaper. Her bum will be bright red and yesterday she even had what looked like 2 little water blisters. I'll put her in a disposable after this happens and the rash and blisters will be gone again with a day or less?? Any ideas what could be causing this? This past time she wore a couple diapers from the same laundry batch before it occured so it's not like it happens right away.

Thanks!

Sounds like they just aren't getting clean enough... how much soap do you use? I have found I have to use the recommended amount of soap or I get dirty stinkies...

I agree that you may not be using enough soap. I use Charlies as well and found that if I stop the machine on the hot wash with soap (I use the full T) and let it soak for at least a 30 minutes (or whenever you remember to restart it) I have never had stinkies with this routine and I have been doing it for over a yr.

Good luck!
