baby teeth question

it appears that my son's emerging top front incisor is positioned extremely far over to the side. like in the position of the canine. might he have very crooked teeth? has this happened to anyone? anybody know anything about teeth?

Is it the lateral incisor coming in and that far back? Or could it be the lateral incisor coming in before the central incisor?

have you considered that it may be his canine and not an out of place incisor?? I got my bottom canines first before the middle teeth. in any case they will straighten out. it's normal for them to be crooked, they're just baby teeth - they do tend to straighten as more grow in, but if not there is still a good chance the adult teeth will be straight

it does not look like a lateral incisor or a canine at all. i suppose it's a possibility but the bottom part of the tooth is in and it *really *looks like a central incisor. it looks pretty large for a baby tooth as well. i know i shouldn't worry about it as it is a baby tooth but i do all the same. i googled a little and found that baby teeth often come in crooked and then straighten out. but sheesh i mean it's so far over that i can't see how this could straighten.

It's not quite the same, but my front teeth (adult) grew in facing each other. My folks were worried I'd have to have a ton of dental work, but as the other teeth came in, they all straightened out. I just went to a new dentist a month or so ago and he asked me how long I wore braces and I had to break the news that I've never had any, just really straight teeth. /anecdote.
