OMG I am so excited about this, especially when I am one of the only ones in my IRL circles who have made it this far.
When DS was a teeny tiny baby, our pediatrician walked into the exam room and told us that he really wanted us to go 3 years and that 3 years was his practice goal for nursing moms. Three years seemed like such a long time!!
And here we are, 3 years later, still nursing despite practically every stinking challenge in the book. Right now I really love our quiet nursing time together and have no plans to push DS to wean.
So, um, where's my medal? Or maybe at least a ribbon or something? A free dinner?

congrats! I agree that once I was nursing a 3 yo (which I was very proud of!), I couldn't imagine weaning him a year earlier. He still seemed so small.
