obviously where ever i was when the baby was hungry....

any strange or interesting ones?

ive fed in... school assembly, parent teacher meetings, church, on a plane, on a bus, while walking round a supermarket, in a cathedral, at a concert, at my in-laws house the first time i met them, at the first meeting with my new midwife when she came to tell me the benefits of breastfeeding

i'm thinking of more

Everywhere

There is no place that I have not whipped 'em out. However my beefs

If my baby is crying and I feed her in the checkout line. Could someone (worker) please offer to help me with my bags out to the driving rain? Really--customer service--anyone.

The only two people/places ever obviously offended.
1. Woman with 7 year old at my peds office OBVIOSLY grabs her son by the hand and drags him to the chairs facing away from me

2. My nurse sister IN MY HOUSE. Woman if you are not on the mortgage--shut up!

Absolutely everywhere. My favourite wa the time that DS2, then 1yo fell down at the Science Museum and I nursed him to comfort him. Only bench was facing the top of the central escalator. So I sat down to nurse him. Whaddya know if two minutes later DS1 (then aged 2.5) also bumped into something and needed to nurse. So there I am, tandem nursing two toddlers in pretty much the most public space at the museum. Tandem nursing can be, well, somewhat less discrete than singleton nursing. The looks on the Dads faces especially as they came up the escalator with their kids and then realized what they were looking at was PRICELESS.

My first NIP experience was at our bank (lived in Queens, NY at the time). DD1 popped off and a stream of milk shot across the room!

On an airplane... just last week at a Chik Fil A (and the Caribbean woman working there asked if I was breastfeeding and then gave me a huge smile and said "lucky baby")... with DD1 at the Adventure Aquarium when she was over a year old

my first NIP experience was at a Toyota dealership. DS was only 3 weeks old, I think. uncomfortable chairs, and not a great deal of privacy. And I hadn't worn a nursing shirt, and my nursing cover was really only covering my boob, not any of my stomach, back or sides. (I am in the south, so I am trying to be discreet. DS doesn't let me though )

Also: Sam's club, on those horrid metal picnic benches, right by the exit. The mall, BRU, Lowe's, Home Depot (we are out shopping alot LOL), the zoo . . . church, a bar (live music!), friends' houses.

my sister is also disapproving of NIP. especially older (than 1) nursing. DS isn't there yet, he's just 5 months, but we'll get there, and then she'll have to get over herself.

funny thing is, when I NIP, i usually end up surrounded by men or talking with one while i nurse, whether or not DH is with me. I find this really funny. It is the women who leave, to give us "privacy" or whatever reason.

Anywhere. The park, Lowe's/Home Depot, Target, the grocery store, on a plane, at meetings, in the nurse's station at my office, the aquariums in Dallas and Chattanooga, the Bounce House, and more. I will whip them out anywhere my baby needs to eat or needs some mommy snuggles and comfort.
The only negatives I've had were an older couple at the Bounce House that acted all offended and said loudly that "people shouldn't do THAT!" and my BIL who just looked real embarrassed and ran off to my sister and started whispering (I figured he was saying "OMG, I just saw your sister's BOOB!")

The better question is where *HAVEN'T* I nursed... and IDK. I've nuresd just about anywhere and everywhere.... the oddest... probably while judging tae kwon do - both at tournaments and tests

Oh, and I think its cause' guys are totally clueless and don't even know wtf your doing if your even semi-descreet half the time. They just have no idea that your boobs hanging out and baby is nursing, so they feel free to chat you up. If they realized what was happening I suspect they'd be highly embarressed!!

Pretty much anywhere. Memorable times: in a bar (granted, a bar that was rented out for a wedding reception!), in church, in front of my priest at a small group meeting, on planes, on mass transit, in the car while driving (both buckled in!), in the middle of a big field surrounded by people immediately after I ran a 5k, while going to the bathroom.

EVERYWHERE!! I have been nursing for the past 8 1/2 years (4 kids), and my kids go everywhere I go. We have nursed at every store, in every park, at every restarant, at church, at every older kid's event (gymnastics, softball, bowling, swimming, etc.), on every vacation, to every person's houses that we go to. I usually just nurse in the sling and no realizes what I'm doing. The only comment I've ever had was a very positive one, we were at the swimming pool last year and youngest baby was only 2 monthes old. A women walked up to me and congratulated me for giving my baby mama milk

my very favorite place: the penguin house at seaworld! quite, dimly lit, wonderfully cold with benches facing the penguin enclosure.
