chances of UTIs in girls and boys?

Can anyone point me in the direction of research showing what a girl's risk of developing a UTI in the first year of life are? Recent studies preferably! I know for a circ'd boy it 1 in 1000 and intact is 1 100, but I'd like to have something else to compare it to when I give info to DH and others. I know the risk for girls is MUCH higher so maybe that would put it in perspective for people?

Here's a main-stream kids health page with information on UTIs. Not only does it show how much more common it is in girls, but it also talks about how simple it is to treat (in the absence of a structural issue at least. But if there is a structural issue causing VUR, then circumcision won't do a thing)

Prevalence (1994): Percentages and counts of women and men who had a UTI in the past 12 months:
Women: 13.3 percent (12.8 million)16
Men: 2.3 percent (2 million)17

That doesn't differentiate between circ and intact, but does show the difference between men and women.

When talking about the whole UTI prevention angle of circ'ing, I like to point out a few things.

1. The boy is more likely to suffer an immediate complication during the circ (2%-10% estimated depending on source) that is as severe or even more severe than a UTI.
2. There is a 10% chance of circ'd boys developing meatal stenosis during childhood, which is a much greater problem than a simple UTI.
3. Intact boys with urinary tract anomalies are more likely to have those caught and treated early since they developer the symptoms of UTIs instead of going asymptomatic.
4. If you look at the actual studies that show the increased risk of UTI, they are not randomized and rather old. Therefore I don't put too great a weight on the findings.
