Blood in vomit?

How concerned should I be about flecks of blood in my morning sick? (Sorry.) I'm pretty sure that's what it is, because other than that it was bright fluorescent yellow. (Again, sorry.)

no tsur eif it's normal or not, but i get that too. i always assumed my throat just gets irritated or something because it's just tiny amounts.

Ooh, that's a good point. I feel silly.

in my case, it usually is due to a bloody nose that had drained down my throat while I slept (yay for ANOTHER pregnancy symptom lol)

any unusual blood is worth mentioning to your doctor/midwife but I'm sure they will say the same, likely just from getting sick so often.

Agreeing that if it is flecks of blood, it is most likely your throat being irritated.

I get the same thing.

Flecks of red is usually nothing to be concerned about...esp if you've been vomiting a lot.

LOTS of red is bad. Brown is also bad.

I'm an ex-bulimic so I've done my share of vomit research... oh, the bright yellow is your "empty" stomach (in case you were wondering)

happened with me in my previous pregnancy. I got totally scared and went to the hospital, only for them to tell me stop trying to stop myself from vomiting cuz I will irritate my thoat lol

I always get that when I vomit a lot. I don't think it indicates anything more than an irritated, lacerated throat.

Hope it calms down soon!

Thanks all!

I'm actually afraid to go shower this morning because that usually triggers a puke. Sigh.

Showers always trigger pukies for me when prego too... Cooler water and un sented or nearly unsented soaps help. Also having the bathroom window open helps too. (hug)

I'm sorry~ I've always been this way when pg too~ I swear I can smell the minerals and heat in the water and it puts me over the edge. A mild lavender goats milk soap is what got me through this time. That and humming .

Hope you turn a corner soon and begin to feel a bit better. As far as the flecks, I've always gotten that too and assumed it was what the others suggested. Maybe worth a mention to your mw or doc if it concerns you though.

I actually guess I don't mind the throwing up too much. After two miscarriages in a row, it's kind of reassuring to still be puking at 10 1/2 weeks. Unless it's all psychosomatic, which I suppose it could be.

Anyway, happened again. I may start eating a cherry popsicle before I shower. It's got to be better than puking up bile, plus I won't notice the specks.

As the PPs have said, little flecks of blood are almost certainly not a concern. They are probably from Mallory Weiss tears which are little tears in the lining of the oesophagus. Pretty common with excessive vomiting. Hope you're feeling better soon.

I hate vomiting bile. Doesn't mean I don't do it often, though. Blech. I agree with the others that the bleeding likely from your throat/esophagus.

I do hope you're feeling at least SOME better soon! I, too, am somewhat comforted by the fact that symptoms are continuing, but I can't say I wouldn't mind them being over and done with, too. And I'm not having twins!!
