seperating cream from raw milk?

I do what most others around here do (i assume), when wanting to get cream from raw milk- letting it sit for a day or two in containers, so the cream rises to the top.
I was wondering, though, if there are ways to get the maximum amount of cream out of the raw milk? I was looking online for some mini/household cream seperators but it seems the assembly/cleaning is too much trouble if i'm only going to be seperating a couple of litres about once a week.
Also, does anyone know the efficacy of traditional seperation (letting it sit) as compared to using a seperator?

a local farm near me that sells raw sells it in plastic jugs- they recommend that you poke a hole in the bottom of the jug and drain the milk and the top you pour out the cream- with the clear jug you can see it has already separated
since most people move it from plastic to glass anyways it's easy

Use a glass sun tea type bottle with the spigot at the bottom. Let it separate and then drain off the skim!

We have a separator, and it does a great job! But, it's a hassle to clean.

What I usually do is let it sit in a gallon glass jar for a couple days, and use a soup ladle to scoop the cream off into a smaller jar.

mama~love, approx. how much more cream can you get with a seperator than if you let the same amount of milk to sit and seperate by itself?

I did this and it worked..I made creme fraiche, but I think there may be some skim that ended up in the jar with it. It's the best method I've used so far!

I don't know, I really didn't find cleaning the cream seperater that big of a deal to clean.
