And you can't actually rule them in, either. Lots of kids have those kinds of histories with no diagnosable anything. You do the best you can with what you have and what you know, and don't let guilt suck energy from today.

My mom gave my 8 year old ( AS)the first book last year for his birthday... I think it was her way of reaching out. My son really related to the character as well, and devoured the entire series over and over and over again. I know this is a little off topic to the OP. This book series was really helpful for him and looking at different brain wiring in a positive light.
