so I want to make this wonderful recipe of yours: http://www.kathysrecipebox.com/?p=136

my mother bought me a coconut "maker" it is the large size. I'm not exactly sure how to do this (I have the starter)--do I still have to warm up everything in a saucepan and take the temperature and THEN stick it in the yogurt maker? will this recipe work in a yogurt maker? I am excited and would love to get this yogurt into my kids' diet. any tips are very much appreciated--thanks!

A yogourt maker, from what I understand, is basically just an easy method of incubating the yogourt (maintaining it at a consistent temperature while the bacteria breeds and feeds on the sugars).
Looking at Kathy's recipe, I would guess that the first step- in the saucepan- is intended to thicken the yogourt with the tapioca starch. I would also be certain that you do allow the coconut milk to cool to 90F as she states in her instructions as higher temperatures may kill your starter.

Yup. I use a yogurt maker (incubator) for mine. And Jacqueline is right on all counts (even if her family can't have coconut).

Everyone stop putting my name in thread titles. It's embarrassing me. And don't worry, I read practically every thread, so I don't need a reminder.
