If you've exchanged these were you successful in getting CP from them?

1st CP party we went to--nope, didn't work.

CP party we hosted when ds finally got it, didn't spread it either.

He caught it from a shirt, and thats the only thing that worked (for us) in passing it along.

Whatever method(s) you decide to try, good luck!

CookieMonster: Are you post stalking me? lol

I'm really thinking I'm going to try while he's young. I'm sure that I'LL be more miserable than he will...but I want to get it out of the way while he's nursing.

lol, i just thought of that. Nah, I'm on a "New Post" bender.

FYI, it took me a good 3 seasons for ds to actually catch it. Too many kids are vaxed.

The pox lolly worked for us. At least one of my children, the other caught it from sissy.

Since this isn't about vaccines I'm moving to H&H.

It worked for 1 out of kids who were given a pox lolly and also played with the child who had the chicken pox. After the first child contracted the pox, the siblings also got it.

A t-shirt worked better then a lolly for us. We did both and did a bath as well when I wanted the girls to get it, and they did. We had many a family that wanted to come over and get it from us afterward, the t-shirts seemed to be the key to success. I had kids that never even stepped foot in my house, get pox from a tee that one of my children slept in the night before.

It looks like he's just over a year? Is he still nursing? I'm only asking because DD was still nursing *a lot* at 18 months and got a very light case of chicken pox. Then, when she was 4 (and still nursing, lol) she got a "true" case. DS got his big case at the same time (so, actually only 16 months) and was a big mess. He was also nursing a lot then.

BUT, I was told that if your child is nursing, they may get the immunity from you basically and not get a "real" case--- in other words, not get true immunity. It's apparently rare(r) for bfed kids to get things that their mother is immune from So trying to get it young might not work out for you.

To me, it was MUCH easier with DD (at 4) than DS (at 16 months) because DD could *tell* me what hurt, how to help, etc... With DS he was just pitiful My mom had 9 kids and said the worst case BY FAR was with the youngest child. I'm sure you've thought about this, but felt I had to mention it.
