A friend of mine shared this like with me: http://www.shelterpop.com/2010/04/30...n-confessions/

I thought we could do it MDC style.

Confess something about your kitchen/house!

- I don't wash my coffee pot regularly. I rinse with water until it's clear and then make coffee...

I don't always wash produce, even conventional.

I used to regularly find moldy bread ends in bread bags in the pantry or on top of the fridge.

For a while DH was having bacon for breakfast, after a few weeks of that I realized there was a grease film on my cabinets casual wiping was NOT doing a thing for. It was nasty!

Our over the range microwave broke 2 year ago and I haven't bothered to have it fixed. Kinda proud of that one in a way though.

I can't believe I am sharing this, non-anonymously.

I've kicked crumbs under the stove.

I'm going to go hide now. I'm pretty ashamed.

I've encouraged the dogs to come in & clean up messes I've dropped on the floor.

I always let me cat drink leftover milk from my cereal bowl.

I think I can top yall. I have stainless steel cookware.... that I let my dog clean for me. I then wash with highpowered dawn w/bleach alternitive soap. But then I don't have to scrape or anything. And the pan gets heated up before I use it again anyway.... But DH thinks it is nasty regardless. But not so much different than a cat in a cereal bowl huh?

LOL, thats what I do! I let my dogs lick the plates and bowls then put them in the dishwasher. Saves throwing out a lot of food.

I leave the coffee from yesterday and have the new stuff drip down on top of it. It would be a perpetual pot, except that DH puts it in the dishwasher on nights he cleans up the kitchen.

This happens here, but I refuse to take responsibility, as I haven't had wheat in almost 2 years.

We have 2 microwaves, both of which work. The over-the -range one and our old one from our apartment when we moved in here. We never bothered to get rid of the old one. We sometimes use both at once to heat our dinner left-overs.

I make pancakes everyday. I rinse the pan in hot water, if I wash it at all. It's non-stick, and coconut oil doesn't go bad, right?

Oh my. I read the first page of comments on that site. Who ARE those people? Oh yeah, the ones that Clorox wipes markets to.

ETA - I read on to the second page of comments, and I should not have. Someone said the ERA has been in effect for some time now. Uh, the Equal Rights Amendment was never passed. What PLANET are they living on? ANd they are completely germ-phobic!!

My dishes often pile up. My 14 month old is clingy and wants to play with me NONESTOP and I just don't care enough to force her to be unhappy so I can clean them. They get clean when they need to be clean.

I've never pulled out a fridge or stove to clean behind... it doesn't even cross my mind to!

I totally reuse pans.

Once in a while I might remember that food I won't eat becaues it has gone bad can probably be removed from the fridge rather than be put back in... I often forget I can do this though

I absolutely am no germophobic. I couldn't possibly stand to clean with anything stronger than hot water and vinegar.... I can't imagine eating in a house where everything is coated with bleach residue... I wonder if there is a study about how much bleach you consume yearly when you wash EVERYTHING with bleach? I'd rather my kid eat a cookie off MY floor than the just bleached floor in the clorox commerical. Ew.

same here

If I'm chopping veggies/fruit, I just rinse the knife & cutting board with water. Don't even scrub with a brush.

I use the same cup for days (2-3) in a row. I hand wash dishes, so I am stingy with it. I don't ration ds' cups tho.

I make sandwiches on the counter, no plate. An I only scrub down the counters at night, if they need it.

Ditto that.

Uhm, if you're just going to put the same thing in the cup (like always water) why get a new one each day? That seems like a waste of cups to me.

I do this too. If I think about it I'll put down a papertowel...but again, why use a plate for a sandwich?

This is a "house" one...

I only vacuum my living room a couple of times a month. I can't remember the last time either bedroom was vacuumed either.

I used the same pan almost daily for my grilled cheese. I wash it....sometimes...

I smash things up with my foot so I can vacuum them up rather than bend over and pick them up.

I do that too. Our dog was away from home for awhile and I made a pork roast while he was gone. What in the world do people do with the drippings and scraps if they don't have a dog?

He really does help with the roasting pan washing though.

My son does that for me.

I used the same cup for 2 or 3 days in a row with nothing more than a quick rinse out.

I'm really bad about letting left over sit in the fridge for too long, then I make dh take them outside and hose out my dishes.

I have also been known to kick crumbs under the stove or the washer/dryer which sit in my tiny kitchen.

I DO sweep daily, and spot clean when something sticky gets on the floor, but I rarely mop the whole floor.

I have 3 types of cleaning for my kitchen:

1) Quick Clean: Only get the dirty spots
2) Surface clean: Wipe surfaces. Wipe sink.
3) Deep Clean: SCRUB and bleach top to bottom.

1 happens daily, 2 happens weekly, and 3 happens about monthly. And you know what? No one has ever gotten sick from food!

I once left a sweeping "pile" in the corner of the dining room for days. I just kept adding to it, even when it contained broken glass. I was pg with the twins and didn't want to bend over. I was leaving it for dp to clean up when she got home from a trip!

Even now, I sometimes will leave the pile until the end of the day. My kids are such sloppy eaters.

I only use cleaners on my fridge when something spills...and even then I'm likely to let it sit until the end of the month when the fridge is nearly empty. The freezer? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
