What's in your diaper bag?

I am planning on cloth diapering with Gro-Baby as well as prefolds/covers (got an assortment from baby showers).

I have no idea what goes into a diaper bag, nevermind a cloth-diaper-bag. How do I transport cloth wipes? How many diapers to include? How do I organize everything? Help!

Thanks

Cloth Diapers (usually 3-4 per kid, sometimes more depending on how long we'll be out)
2-3 extra covers
Wipes - a travel case of disposable wipes and a few cloth wipes I can get wet if need be
Wet Bag
A couple plastic bags in case I forget to pack the wet bag
Extra outfit for toddler
2 Extra outfits for newborn
Receiving blanket/Nursing cover
Cloth Changing Pad
Burp Cloths/Prefold
Water for me
Snacks/Drink for toddler
Wallet, phone, keys

I had a diaper bag custom made for me because storebought ones could barely hold one in cloth diapers, let alone two kids!

I would pack 3 diapers per hour we would be gone.. that would cover any extras that may be needed for messes, burp cloth, changing pad, whatever. I also pack 2 or 3 extra covers but honestly I don't think I ever needed them all. My wipes I kept in a small Tupperware container or a ziplock bag. I would pack 1 extra outfit, there is always and extra blanket in the van so need for it in the bag. The rest of the stuff in there was whatever I needed or my other LO needed at the time. I found it was easier to have one huge diaper bag to leave in the van and keep a small one on me with 1 or 2 diapers, a cover, wetbag and wipes.

Wow I didn't realize I was such a minimalist.

I have 1 or 2 diapers, a wet bag, disposable wipes, an extra cover and a set of pins in case the snappi breaks.

I also usually pack a sippy cup and snack for dd. And my wallet, sunglasses, keys and lip balm are in there too.

If we were going to be gone all day I'd put 3 or 4 extra diapers and possibly an extra set of clothes in another bag to be left in the car.

Depends on the age of the kid and how long we will be gone.

For a tiny baby (first six months ish) we never went out for more than three-ish hours:
five diapers (we used pockets/AIOs)
a Ziplock baggie with wet wipes
two receiving blankets that we used as changing pads
two or three prefolds because our daughter was a spit up machine
two outfits
a water bottle for me
large Ziplocks for dirty diapers

For the ~ year after that:
one diaper per hour we would be gone with one spare
a Ziplock baggie with wet wipes
one receiving blanket that we used as a changing pad
one outfit
a water bottle for me
large Ziplocks for dirty diapers

With a two year old I bring a dirty bag and a diaper and shove them in my purse if the outing is less than three hours and call it good.

I picked up a shoulder bag from Target for $10 for my diaper bag. It has an inside zippered pocket, in which I put 3 wipes folded together. I usually have 2 sets of these. I have a Klean Kanteen with a sport top with plain water in the bottom of the bag, a changing pad, a wet bag, and usually 1 dipe for every 2 hours we'll be gone +1. 1 side pocket holds toys, 1 holds his bottle and burp cloth and 1 holds my knitting. My wallet goes in the main compartment with the dipes.

If we're going to be gone a while, I'll take another diaper cover - we use wool. But that's largely dependent upon whether not he's had his morning poopies yet.

Awesome, thanks. I like the minimalist approach....we'll see.

I bought a diaper bag and wanted to "Practice" packing it up to see if I like it, or if I should return it for something else. I'm hoping to find something I could also put my 13" powebook laptop in so that I can take it to work with me, with the babe. I wouldn't really carry it around - just from the car to work, but I would like it to at least fit.

I'm also considering getting a regular tote bag and getting one of the changing-pad/wipe holder thinggies and making my own diaper bag. I did find a diaper bag that isn't very expensive though, and I kinda needed a new bag anyway....

I carry for my 2 month old
2 AIOs
2 flats (use as changing pads or spare diapers)
1 spare snappi
1 spare dappi pull on cover
1 spare onsie or sleeper
1 package sposie wipes (I honestly find cloth wipes for actual diape changing a pain on the go)
4-6 cloth wipes (usd dry for spit up etc..)
1 wet bag
1 nursing cover
a pacifer
bottle of pumped milk (sometimes)
spare meter strip gummy snacks and protein bars for me (I'm diabetic)
cell phone
water bottle
2 sposies stuck at the bottom JIC...
