Mercy Update

Thread Starter
Briefly:

1. Pumping sucks. So I'm not doing it. Instead I was a giant but super smiley and upbeat pain in the rear end, and I have been breastfeeding every 3 hours since last night. Screw you, stinking breast pump.

2. We're off the respirator and on a nasal cannula. Her respiration rate is high, but lower when the freaking monitors aren't going off. We are trying to get her transferred to a smaller hospital with fewer babies and less stress.

3. No neurological concerns whatsoever.

4. We think this was probably an abruption, at least one in the making. In all likelihood, the stupid herbal induction stuff saved my baby's life or at least her brain. 30-45 minutes and she barely made out without damage. If we hadn't gotten my cervix really ready to go, we wouldn't have been in a position to have the labor from hell that probably saved her life. If that was an abruption, she would not have handled it much longer. Extremely large blood clot after placenta, and placental separation occurred much much faster than I expected it to.

5. She aspirated something. It's better now. All cultures for infection coming back negative.

glad to hear things are going better & I believe the same about my birth, that the PITA quick intense "holy crap" labor saved us from bigger complications!

WTG!!!! I am so happy to read this update as you guys have in my thoughts. How big was she? She's got some yummy cheeks going on there.

OMG, love the chubs! She is just yummy.

I'm glad you're getting what looks like answers, and even more glad that it looks like she's going to be coming closer to home and out of the stress.

And YOU? A PITA? Never. I can't possibly see you doing that.

How are YOU doing, mama? Mercy's not the only one who went through an ordeal. Hope you're healing and feeling better now that you're not attached to a pump.
