QUICK - need an opinion

I'm buying diapers for a gift & I want to place my order ASAP so I can get them in time for the shower!!

My friend is a first-time expectant mom & really interested in CD'ing. She registered for some Thirsties Duo wraps, BG 3.0, & Kissaluv's fitteds... so that seems to be what she's interested in & I want to get her something from my WAHM friend that will complement that nicely.

All 3 options are similar prices & very cute prints. She would need a cover with all of them.

Option 1:
2 fitteds & 2 prefolds (that can also be layed into the fitteds or she would have to get separate inserts), 6 wipes in the same print (gender-neutral)

Option 2:
5 pocket diapers (2 different boy prints), she'd need to get inserts

Option 3:
2 pockets & 2 prefolds that can be used separately or as inserts (2 different boy prints) & maybe some plain wipes or some other random thing to go with it

Which option would you choose? Or none of them? I'm probably over-thinking this but I want to get her something nice!!

Option 3
Then she has some complete diapers to use without needing to get inserts or covers.

Kissaluvs and try to talk her out of the BG. They just didn't last. There are much better/more durable brands.

Haha I must've mixed up my explanation! I am sooo frazzled today :-/

She would need to get a cover with any of the 3 options.

None of the 3 are 'brand names' they are ones made by a friend (I think they are nicer than the brand names anyway).

I'm leaning toward #1 or #3 because at least she could use the prefolds as inserts...

None of the options I can afford come with inserts (not even if I got them from someone else)... I do think I have some unused extra brand-name inserts from my own stash that I could throw in as well but I don't know if that would be weird...

I am pretty sure people will get the covers & brand-names off her registry... ahhh I don't know what to do!

I'm leaning towards the fitteds (maybe get a few fitteds instead of the fitteds and prefolds?). Sounds like she's prioritizing ease of use with the stash she's getting herself so I'd think the fitteds would be more up her alley. And I'm not sure how good OS pockets will be on a newborn so that's why I'd lean away from those.

You said she's getting covers already, right?

I *think* she'll get the covers (and I think she'll get some herself if she doesn't receive them at the shower)... I think I am getting confused because I always considered 'pockets' to not require a cover but these apparently do. I guess the fitteds also need an insert/doubler? There is a small soaker but they must need more past the newborn stage? (I have always used AIO/pockets so this is new to me).

Actually I just found a cover I could afford, it's a one-size. I could get the one-size cover & 2 fitteds with 2 prefolds for only a couple dollars more than I wanted to spend...

It's called a pocket fitted. Swaddlebees used to make them.

I'd go with Option 1, personally. Although I'd probably skip the wipes and add a Snappi or some pins.

OK I'm gonna go with 2 fitteds + 2 prefolds (comes with pins) and I'll order the cover I found too, and maybe I can make/buy some wipes to go with it too, I think that will make a nice & affordable set... Thank you for talking me through this, I'm usually not so indecisive!
