PMS before implantation??

So, I seem to have a shortish LP (10-12 days?) and PMS symptoms that most months start 6-8 days before AF is due. Is it possible to have my usual PMS symptoms (very mild cramping, depression, pissy mood) start soon after ovulation, but then have them go away, or i guess turn into early PG symptoms once implantation (HOPEFULLY) occurs. Or is this impossible because once PMS starts that means the egg wasn't fertilized and my body already knows it isn't pregnant? Hope this makes sense! I'm in the "obsess over everything" 2ww!!

PMS is caused by the increase in progesterone that naturally occurs during the luteal phase

the MOST likely scenario is that you get PMS... and continue to get all of those same symptoms for quite a while after you miss your period... possibly with changes of course, other symptoms added in or some symptoms not so strong.

Of course, every woman is different, some get pregnancy symptoms right away, others take a very long time to get any.

Thanks so much, Maeryn! I had a feeling it would be you to respond!
That's what I was hoping so I feel much better now. For the last 3 months I'd be so "down in the dumps" once those PMS symptoms started all the way until AF. Now I feel I can relax a little more the week leading up to AF or a BFP!

Remember also, even your typically AF cramps are NOT a sign that you aren't pregnant! Most women get those for several weeks in early pregnancy... myself starting at 15dpo I hurt so bad I was just SURE that my AF was going to show up any second but my tests were getting darker and darker and the only time I bled after getting a bfp was after my pap smear at 8 weeks!

Hang in there! I do not really know the answer to your question, all I can say that I have found out with the stress of TTC your body can do crazy things at crazy times. I am praying that this is the cycle for you. Stay positive and . Keep us updated.

Oh yeah, I know all about the cramping and "AF will be here any minute" feeling. I had cramping like that with all 4 of my pregnancies. It's just the whole early PMS symptoms that have thrown me off. I used to only get them about a day or two before AF, but for the last 9 or so months they started coming 7-8 days before AF. There have been a few other changes too, so I'm wondering if it's my "old" age.

Thanks Zoejanesmommy! I hope this is my month, too!
