We lived in CT for a long time but never once visited a thrift store. We moved out West for a couple of years and I have become ADDICTED - there are like ten thrift stores I can think of in town, and I visit about 4-5 of them often. They're GREAT - clean, cheap, and I feel good about buying second-hand.
Well, we're moving back to CT. Not sure what town, but probably somewhere in Fairfield County. Either Fairfield or maybe a bit north, around Danbury or thereabouts. But I got to thinking - are there any good thrift stores in the area? Heck, any at all? I'm not talking about consignment stores really.
Also, is Craigslist decent in the area? Here it's great, but again, I don't remember much about CL in the area. It seemed like the people we were around were embarrassed to buy anything secondhand.
But maybe that's just my paranoia and there's a whole secondhand subculture I don't know about!!

there's the dca shop on post road that's run by little old ladies; there's yellow balloon, also post road, that's nice; and there was one called like bohemian boutique or something that may or may not still be there, also on post road, very near yellow balloon i think. there's also a good goodwill near the stamford line, just past uconn. happy hunting!
