ARG..friend scaring another friend with fake facts!!!

Tonight I went to dinner with some friends. I do not want to argue with friends, especially those who DO NOT have their facts and THINK they know what they are talking about.

I need to bite my tongue. I need to bite my tongue. I need to bite my tongue.

But how do you bite your tongue when a nurse who claims that she did research back in nursing school and says that VBACs are so dangerous, ESPECIALLY after 2 c/s's. NO doctor would ever allow that. I chime in with MY doctor does that. But now I'm the crazy one who is risking my baby and myself!

I come back with a few general comments, a few loose stats and ask her the last time she researched this.

She says, "Oh, I've done my research, both in school and as a nurse, we had to do research on this stuff!"

BS. BS. BS!!!!!!!!

I HATE the fact that a "professional" that has no clue what she's talking about is using the scare tactics that she must have learned from non supportive OB's and teachers along her way and telling other women and because she is a nurse, she must know best, right???

Sorry, I need to vent before I blow up and ruin friendships!!!

Sounds like my life with my inlaws. One was a L&D nurse and the other a pedi. TRIED to have a conversation and it was all about how awful and dangerous all of this was. But, I can't read a study or understand medical stuff, so they know so much more, right?
