Dust mite allergy and ear infections?

Both my children 1 and 2 years old have had frequent ear infections. My two year old just tested positive for cat, dog, and dust mite allergy. We don't have any pets. Do you think the ear infections may be caused by the allergy? I am wondering if my 1 year old might also have this same allergy causing ear infections.

Or do you think the ear infections could be caused by frequent nursing in the side lying position? I have heard some people say that feeding lying down only caused ear infections with formula, but I have also heard that nursing lying down might as well.....anyone know?

Well if she's always congested from the allergy, then it could be. But I'd be more likely to try taking out dairy for both of them.

interesting, I suspected a dairy allergy, that's why I talked to the doctor about the allergy test. I was surprised it didn't come up...

If it's an intolerance, it won't show up on an allergy test. If you're gut is saying that anyway, it's probably time to try a dairy-free test for a few weeks (for you too, if you're still nursing).

I was going to say dairy too. I'm allergic to dust mites and various pollens, and I think my dairy reaction is only an intolerance, but it makes me noticeably stuffy. The only time dust comes close is if I'm cleaning a room that's been massively neglected and my face is in the clouds of dust being kicked up.

Also consider a chiropractor of cranial-sacral person.
