Question about peace cue and exhaling with hypnobabies

Anyone here know if you can use the 'peace' cue when you are in the OFF position or is that only to be used during center switch?

Also, when you are OFF, does that mean when you exhale you just do so through your nose, or can you do the long exhaling breaths by mouth they have you do at the beginning of the CDs?

thanks in advance!

Maybe we have a Hypnobabies instructor here on MDC who can speak a little more authoritatively than I can, but my understanding is that you can breathe through either your nose or your mouth--whichever is more natural/relaxed--while your switch is in the 'off' position. Some pregnant women have nasal congestion or swelling that can make nose-only breathing laborious and distracting. The CDs encourage listeners to focus on breathing for the first few minutes in order to achieve relaxation and then to let their bodies guide their breathing into a natural pattern. So my guess would be that breathing in the way that comes naturally and is most compatible with shutting off conscious movements beyond those necessary to continued existence is probably the best way to go.

This is my second pregnancy and therefore my second time around practicing Hypnobabies and from what I always assumed that you should be breathing what ever way is most comfortable and relaxing. This is explained, from what I understand, in the part of the tape says that you switch will not turn off those muscles that are necessary for basic survival functions, including breathing whatever method works for you.

As far as the release cue, I also understand that you can use it when your light switch is off or in center position. During my birthing time with my DD I was going through my pressure waves with my switch in center position but my husband could tell if I needed extra "anesthesia" and relaxation and would place his hand on my forehead and use the "release" and "peace" cues and this worked amazingly.
Hope this helps!

I've taken the instructions to mean once you're into the relaxation you should breathe however is most comfortable, so you're not really paying attention after those first few minutes. I'm pretty sure you can use any of your cues in any light-switch position. I've used peace randomly during the day for RL pain and others- it's really amazing.
