hello UC'ers please help advice wanted

hello, having to type this post super quickly because DH is hungry and drumming his fingers waiting to go out to eat LOL.

im planning a HBAC (possibly UCBAC) +HypnoBirthing

my son was born via CS as he was posterior and the student staff i was stuck with in my local hospital thought that laying me on my back, flat with an epidural would be a good idea (long story short)

i am DESPERATE to give birth as nature intended but i'm a bit worried as i've been told i have an anterior placenta (not low) and have heard that means a posterior baby. I really want to avoid being bullied into going to my very knife-happy local hospital, especially during labour and would welcome ALL information which you guys may think is relevant or that i may find helpful to succeed in birthing my daughter with my DH as my companion. OFP etc etc

much love and many thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!

DS 15/12/04, DD due late sept/early oct (not bothering being specific with due dates, babies come when they wanna come!)

I was not a UCer, had a HB with MW but I had an anterior placenta and my baby (9lb 6oz) was not posterior. She was positioned perfectly. I was really worried about this because my first birth, my placenta was fine but the baby was posterior (I birthed him fine, though)... so I thought for sure I would have it with the 2nd one but I did not. I was VERY particular with my posture in the 2nd pregnancy from about 28 weeks on and I think that had a lot to do with her position. I also saw a chiro.

Anyway sorry I am not a UCer but I just wanted to post some non-posterior with anterior placenta hope for you!

FWIW, I'm planning my second UC (baby due in around 3 1/2 weeks), and my placenta is anterior. I'm seeing an OB for prenatals, and I mentioned that I was concerned about an anterior placenta causing a posterior baby. He said that this isn't really his experience- anterior placentas are not really associated with posterior babies or anterior babies. It really doesn't matter. BTW, while my OB is still an OB, I've shared with him my intentions to UC and he has not tried to really persuade me any other way. He informed me that if he thinks my risk status changes, he will let me know. So in other words, my OB doesn't think that an anterior placenta is going to make a UC more dangerous. He also boasts about "probably" having the lowest c-section rates in town (though he doesn't know his rates or anyone else's ).

Oh, and if you're worried about fetal positioning, I'd check out spinningbabies.com .

thank you! i really did just need to hear that placenta positioning doesn't always dictate baby position and that birthing a sunny side up baby is perfectly possible without hours of screaming agony lol. trying to get all my little niggles and fears dealt with early on so they dont crop up during labour and interrupt my hypnosis etc.

my hospital maternity ward has been all oer the news in the past year for dangerously low standards of care and high section rates, although it was closed down and reopened with new management and a few extra midwies i still dont feel happy to give birth there and hope to be a successful hbac story!

thanks again to all, it really helps to hear from others how've been there done that, chills me out xx

i ubac'd. placenta was anterior. my big guy birthed in about 20 minutes of pushing and was positioned beautifully for labor, although not always during pregnancy.

peaceful birthing!!
