for all you charting experts...

I'm sorry if the answer is completely obvious and I've missed it somewhere!

This is my very first month charting (http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2dea34) I am on day 3 and I have a nasty cold. I've had a fever on and off throughout the day... so I feel my temp was high when I woke up.

-I know it may not matter on CD3, BUT, what affect will having a slight fever take to your charting? Does ff assume ovulation if I'm sick closer to the middle of my cycle?
-Do I just take my temperature ONCE in the morning? Just once laying in bed? Never more?

Thank you
Julie

Julie, fertilityfriend is very forgiving. If your temps stay low the rest of your pre o phase, it'll keep recalculating itself. Your fever shouldn't really have an effect on your chart especially this early in your cycle. For my chart, it predicted I o'd on cd 14, but after consistent low temps after, it erased my o date and said it needs more data to predict o date. As for taking your temps, yes! Just once, in the morning before you get out of bed, as close to the same time every day. If you take it more than once a day, it'll just confuse you and is really not necessary, imho.

Good luck!

thank you for the great info!!! okay 1 more question.....

So, I usually work at 5 am, but sometimes at 4, sometimes at 3:30... so I started taking my temp at 3:30 am because that's an average time for me. Now like today I worked at 6 am, but I set my alarm for 3:30 am to wake up to take my temp. I had more than 3 hrs of sleep... so is that okay to do? It doesn't matter if that's not really the time my body wants to wake up does it? haha that probably sounds funny, but i'm sure you know what I mean!

Yep, my work schedule switches around too, The alarm goes off at 6am every day (DH needs to get up at that time even if I don't that day) so I take my temp at that time, and go back to sleep or get up depending on the day. My temps are quite stable and it works fine.
