Itchy scalp of my 4yo, help!

please. i think he´s always scratched his head, but lately, maybe a few weeks, he´s been scratching alot and he tells me his head itches. nothing I can see. but i´m wondering what it can be? or what i can put on his scalp? the ped said it´s probably the shampoo...but i hardly use any, maybe twice a week, and it´s a baby non allergenic type. his hair IS very dry.
i was about to put olive oil on his head, but i´m not sure.
sesame seed oil?

What solved my itchy scalp was three things:
1. increasing natural unprocessed dietary fats, especially adding in more omega-3s

2. switching to a genuinely toxin-free shampoo and conditioner. Try this site:

3. massaging my scalp with virgin coconut oil, and then wearing a shower cap for a few hours before shampooing and conditioning as normal.
