I have been so sad recently. I cried about it yesterday. My 13 mo old DD is just not interested in nursing anymore. I offer it to her about 5-6 times a day (or more) and she only nurses right before her morning nap, then again right before bed. Sometimes once during the night. I think if I didn't offer it she would just stop all together. I feel so upset that she is weaning...I always envisioned nursing for a long time, I never thought she'd want to stop this soon. and now I am worried about her hydration, her nutrition, etc...As she is also quite picky with solids. Is there a way I can cajole her to nurse more???

My old doctor would say to stop having her drink anything else. Does she drink a lot from a sippy or cup? You could slow that down or completley stop. I'm sure she would get thirsty. I'm in the middle of wondering how much to allow ds2 to drink from a sippy (haven't allowed it much) because this doctor I used to have recommended no other forms of liquid until age 18 months to prevent early weaning. Ds2 wants to do everything ds1 is doing though of course!
Does she sleep by you in bed? If you really want her nursing more you could move her in bed with you and she may start nursing more at night. You may not want to give up your nice sleep though (sounds pretty good with once a night!)
Good luck!

Is it possible she has an ear infection? My friend's 13 month old weaned and then it turned out she had an really bad ear infection (but no symptoms other than the not wanting to nurse). She was able to get her back to the breast even a month later (but she had a twin who was still nursing). I would check her ears.
Is it possible you're pregnant? THat can change the milk and make it taste different.

Thank you for your ideas!
We co-sleep 100%...So that's not something we can change...Oh I HOPE I'm not pregnant. I never even thought of that. I don't have my period back yet so I can't be sure. But I think I would notice other signs? Oh, I'm not ready yet...I hope not. Yes, she could be teething. She only still has 2 teeth so I am sure other ones are on their way?
How can I check her ears to see if she has an ear infection? When we went for her WBV at 1 year last month the ped looked in her ears with the otoscope and said they looked fine...She was already starting to "slow" her nursing even back then, when I think about it.
