Couple of questions about pre-folds.

OK, so here's hoping some of you diapering divas out there can help me out.

First question, might be kinda silly but... When you get new pre-folds I understand that you are supposed to wash them a few times before use to 'quilt' them. Does this mean run thru washer, run thru dryer, repeat 4 times? Or does it mean run thru washer 4 times then run thru dryer?

Second question, which might make the first hypothetical: My mom apparently still has all of my cloth diapers which she is more than willing to give me for my little one and are obviously nicely quilted by now. My problem is that I happen to know that she bleached the heck out of them at least once or twice a month if not every wash for the whole 4ish years they were in use (me and my little bro). Is this likely to cause any problems with the diapers or should I be good to go?

The only thing that could happen is they wear out faster from being bleached but I would still take them in a heart beat! Nothing would be better IMO!

If you get new diapers you can wash a couple times on hot and then throw them in the drier. The hot washes takes the natural oils our and the drier quilts them.

Hot wash no detergent to get the natural cotton oils off of the dipes and increase the absorbancy of the diaper faster. You can also boil on stove (be very careful) or I did the same thing in my crockpot overnight.
