Ali picked Roberto, and he proposed.
All the promos were cut to make us think that she picked one, but that he didn't pick her back. They kept saying "this never happened before!" and "who will Ali bring to GMA? Roberto? Chris? Or will she be ALOOOONE????"
What the "this never happened" thing was, Ali had her final date with Roberto and it went well, then when she arrived at Chris's tikihut for their final date, she was a bundle of nerves and Chris (who was previously very comfortable and confident with her family) immediately caught on that something was bad. She broke up with him, told him that she loved 'someone else' the day before the Final Rose Ceremony, just to save him that pain. Personally, it was AWFUL to watch!!! So awkward, so raw!!!! I felt sick to my stomach, really, and was still hoping that maybe the 'someone else' she was in love with was Frank and that she was going to break up with Roberto too, but not so.
When she was walking back to her hut there was a giant rainbow over the lagoon, it was portrayed as Chris's "look for me in rainbows" mother, which I guess means Chris will be ok. At first I thought it was a feign-bow, it looked fake to me and waaaaay too convenient, but DH believed it was real and then when they talked about it on After the Final Rose, I believed it more.
Frank skipped out on his After the Final Rose appearance. Shocker.
However, if I were Frank's gf, I'd be like "you ain't goin' back on that show!!!" so maybe that happened, but he should have never committed to the appearance in the first place if he was just going to flake out yet again.
It wasn't until late into the ATFR episode that I could really see Ali and Roberto together. I can't deny that getting the First Impression rose is huge, and considering he's the one she had the Lion King stunt with, it's almost like they told her to pick the one she was leaning towards so they could wrap the series up with a big Disney bang with "Can you feel the love tonight," which was so cheezy I wanted to throw up cheez. They DID seem happy and she DID seem confident in his commitment to her, I will wish them the best! (I still don't see why a 26 yo hunk ball player would genuinely be love-starved and looking for it on tv, but whatever.)
) or that he had cried all his tears for his mother and there were none left, not for any woman.
Bring on the Bachelor Pad, though...looks hysterical (and DH thinks it's much more his style.
