I know about the "food before one is just for fun" recommendation but my daughter definitely did not get the memo. She turned eleven months old yesterday and already eats like a toddler; three solid meals, one snack, three bottles of EBM. And by "meals" I don't mean a tablespoon of puree, I mean half an almond butter sandwich and a whole banana with a cup of breastmilk. As far as DD is concerned, breastmilk is a beverage and a whole four ounce bottle of it buys me, maybe, 30 to 45 minutes before she is starving again much like a glass of cow's milk would to an adult.
I know this isn't what would be recommended but before she started solids we were having a terrible time keeping DD's weight up. I followed her around all day, offering milk that she wasn't asking for but she just wouldn't take more than 24 ounces a day no matter what "container" it was offered in, ever.
