What is your best freecycle find?

I've been able to get rid of a bunch of things I didn't need (clothes, toys, and college textbooks). I've also received some great things as well! Today I got an air conditioner for free! I've also received a piano for free.

I think my best find was a fellow natural minded mama friend, though.

So, what have you found on freecycle?

A couple of years ago I got a really nice hand made king size bed frame that was a This End Up style. I have also received art work, a cooler for taking car-camping, and tons of other little things.

Hm, I have given lots of great stuff, and gotten lots too! Today actually I picked up a perfect condition CARES harness for air travel. I was SO excited! But I also think that the best thing i found was friends and a meetup group called the ecomoms. <3 freecycle!

My best find was access to a private school's playground! I posted that I was giving away a bunch of baby items that my 19-month-old son no longer needed. The response was overwhelming, but there was one woman whose email was so friendly and warm, I couldn't help but choose her. When she came over to pick up the stuff, she was just as friendly as she seemed online, and told us she was a teacher at the private school across the street from us. She gave us permission to use the playground during off-hours, and said we could use her name if anyone every questioned us about it. The school's playground is fenced in with "no trespassing" signs posted everywhere, so we never used it. We're so happy to get to play there now! It's such a great place to take my son because we're usually the only ones there. No fears of him being run over by the big kids at the popular park downtown! It just really made us happy to see how one good turn invites another.

I got a giant tub of cloth diapers! Most of them Sandy's and really nice stuff.

Probably the space in my house We have found new homes for so much stuff that we would have hung onto because it was too good to throw out but would not sell at the charity shops. It's so much easier to pass stuff one when you know people want it.

We have 2 puchchairs we got from freecycle, a maclaren quest which I had to fix the wheel back on needed a 37p washer and 5 minutes work. The other is an off road one which again needed a bit of work but I was lucky to find the part on ebay. That one saved us quite a bit of money when we went camping as it was able to handle the walk to the beach. Otherwise we would have ended up driving and spending £5 per day to park.

I think DHs favorite would be the car roof rack, he thought it would take a bit of fixing up as it did not have the correct brackets to fit our car, but found the brackets from our broken one fitted on it.

can you tell i love freecycle! I love knowing my things are going to some one who wants them and not just being thrown away by goodwill.

I, too, love the space in my house... or rather less piles of clutter. heh

I once got a whole new bunch of sudoku puzzle books, but sadly, DH and I don't have the time we used to have to do them.

Coolest thing so far, got a bowling ball and shoes for DSS. We love to bowl.

Lots of other cool things are offered, but I'm never fast enough to nab them. I sure love to give things away, though!

Our best find was probably a Cozy coupe for my son. It was muddy and covered with spiders, but after a good wash it was great. He's played with it every single day.

We've also gotten two dressers, a lovely kids table plus chairs, sewing machine, and basil plants.

I love it!

The best thing I got off freecycle was a new friendship, this mama was super sweet, but then moved a town away. I am now across the country, but we still talk.

I also got a crib we used for two kids that turned out to be an awesome find.

A huge china cabinet, dining room table with chairs {seats 10 if you use the leaf}, and new toys for my daughter all from one person. They were downsizing and moving out of state - they even helped us load it!

I once posted a wanted for a lawn mower. An elderly gentleman gave me a practically brand new mulching mower that retails for $300. It was great!
