I need a rise measurement, please. My still in the womb nephew and I thank you.

Thinking an 18 inch waist with a drawstring?

Not sure what you're making so I hth.
The measurements below are based upon a pair of longies for my slightly larger than average 5 month old ds. They fit him really well over a kissaluvs fitted with a doubler or a snappied prefold.

8.5" front rise
10" rear rise (3 short rows in the rear)
18" waist
35" tie
I make ties extra long as ds has been pulling on the strings of his longies/shorties so I now double tie and need the longer tie. I also like making an extra long tie that can be used for more than one size. I just take the tie out of a too small pair of longies and put it into the next size.

It is so drastically different from child to child. At 6 mos, my guy had a 19 inch hip, an 18 inch rise and a 9 inch inseam (over a Goodmama OS dipe). But, he's majorly skinny.

I'll say though that a too-long rise is definitely preferable to a too short one. I have some that come halfway up his belly, which is fine by me - they're less likely to fall off.

Which makes it hard to knit for people not born yet! His half brother was 9 lbs at birth, so I'm erring on the big side.

I'll probably be using pear's longie pattern.

Thanks for the measurements! I've switched computers and forgot to save my bookmarked page w/ avg baby measurements.
