2yo horrible latch!

My 2yo has been leaving tooth marks on me recently since my milk came in again. He opens really wide, has a good latch otherwise, but he chews on me and it's horrible!

no words of wisdom- only commiseration. Only I don't have a new toothless baby to remember how much nicer it felt with a gummy latch.

my DD is almost 21 months old and has left 4 teeth marks on the top of my areola since she was about 16 months old. She's weaning herself already I have to limit her nursing sessions because after about 5 minutes I'm gritting my teeth and trying to think of anything but the feeling of her teeth rubbing on my breast.

She had a horrible latch as a newborn since she was early and my breasts and nipples are pretty large. I thought we remedied that when she was 2 months old and we got my oversupply under control but I still have to compress my breast for her to latch on because she starts closing her mouth as soon as she gets near the tap. I have to break her latch about 2-3 times every few days when she gets a lazy latch.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this too and I know how I don't look forward to nursing her as much as I used to despite still loving our nursing relationship overall.

Uh oh, I was hoping to fins some fabulous advice in this thread as I've got the same problem with a 1 year old. She leaves 4 teeth marks above the areola and has a wretched latch because she won't open her mouth very wide. It is so painful which is hard because she still nurses 6-8 times a day. I was hoping someone had advice about a different position or tips to get a good latch so the top teeth don't dig in. Anyone?

I just posted in the general breastfeeding forum about this. My almost 3 yo does this too me and I am 38 weeks pregnant. It is killing me and I am worried about having too much pain when the new baby comes!!
