Basic Math Fact review

Thread Starter
My (currently schooled) children could really use some extra practice with basic math facts this summer. They understand math concepts well, but never memorized their math facts the way I think they should.

They love to play on multiplication.com, and I will continue to encourage them to do that.

Besides flash cards, does anyone have great ideas to help with mastery of basic math facts? I'm open to workbooks, games, or anything else.

we like to play
shut the box
war (but flip two cards at a time and add/subtract/multiply to find your value)
and my kids like mathmagician instead of flash cards: http://resources.oswego.org/games/ma...cathymath.html

I have my kids do 10 minutes of drill on freerice.com most days. It has basic math or multiplication to choose from for Math. It really has helped and they actually like doing it because they are helping donate rice to people in need. Its fast, simple, and requires no mom. They set the timer and get the website on by themselves.

Some of our faves:

Smath
Addition/Subtraction (or) Mult./Division War--like War, but you lay down two cards at a time and have to perform the operation, and the person with the highest answer wins the hand.

Yahtzee if they need mult. practice

Wal-Mart sells School Zone workbooks that come with CD-Rom games. I'm planning on getting one of these for DD to play with this summer.

Thanks so much for these resources! We need a little multiplication review over here.
