Used toddler bed

My mom found a great, gently used, all wood toddler bed frame for sale on our local parents buy/sell board for 20 dollars. The price is great but I'm not sure if we should use it due to the potential of bed bugs. The risk seems small, and I doubt the woman would sell a bed frame if she knew she had a bed bug problem, especially to only get 20 dollars out of the deal, but I still feel a bit paranoid.

I'm just wondering if other people would buy used bed frames, under what conditions, how you would check for signs of bedbugs, etc.

Thanks,

Kassandra

Well, I have to admit that's one of my big (and perhaps slightly irrational?) fears. I figure the main reason people get rid of toddler beds is that kids outgrow them so quickly. I would feel differently about buying an adult bed second had though.

I always thought that bedbugs were more an issue in mattresses and sheets? I wouldn't buy a used mattress anyway of course.

You could always give it a good look over (which of course you would for other reasons, right?) and when you bring it home give it a good scrubbing before you set it up.

My parents picked it up for us and I think we're going to use it after taking it apart and scrubbing it down first. Thanks for the replies

I don't think they would live on a frame, only a mattress. Sounds like a good deal...
