Checking your CM

Ok, this may be too graphic for some so sorry in advance. I was wondering do you just check it right before using the bathroom with a tissue or do you really check it? I have just been kinda wiping it on a cloth and checking from there but since my cloth is white I think I am getting inacurate readings. For example yesturday I thought it was dry or maybe slightly creamy but when we DTD it sure felt EWCM. I was wondering should I be checking more closely or was the EWCM because of the excitement.

You have to forgive me I have not had a cycle for 4 years and I was mirena and almost always had EWCM with mirena and I just can not remember things before DD. Thanks

I do a mixture of how I feel and what I see on paper. If I feel abnormally wet down there... when I wipe I check (yes by touching it, I wash my hands after pottying anyway!) if it stretches its ewcm, if not its wet.

If I have white creamy cm in my panties, its creamy. If its sticky in my panties, its sticky.

If theres nothing noticeable, its dry.

mae that sounds like the weather rock: if the rock is wet, it's raining. if the rock is hot, it's sunny. if you cant see the rock, it's foggy...

for me, i have better luck checking inside. i wash my hands before i go to the pot, check, pee, wash my hands again. if it's watery, for me that's obvious right around the outside, but there could be ewcm in there, and sometimes i have to go in and find it. if it's not fertile cm, it's easier, but with the fertile cm, sometimes you can even squeeze your cervix and swirl around it to find it.

I tend not to have much CM, so I check at the cervix. The exception is creamy. My creamy is noticeable without an internal check, especially in pregnancy.

Also arousal fluid is a lot like EWCM so if you feel like you get EWCM during DTD it's probably just arousal fluid.

i would tend to disagree with that. arousal fluid is like watery/creamy, but it has no stretching ability at all. however, dh's contribution is easy to confuse. semen does stretch a little, although if you keep trying to stretch it over and over, it will dry up and get sticky after a while, where ew doesnt. usually ew is clear (not always) and semen usually has a white/yellow/grey color to it. ew has no smell, semen does. but when you've got semen and cm mixed together, whew, then it's tough, but in reality, a moot point! you can do the water trick- ew in water will ball up and sink, semen falls apart and doesnt sink.

Well I guess it depends on the person, mine is very much like EWCM and ti streches quite a bit.

TMI Warning.

I have seen arousal fluid while DH is out of the country so no chance of mixing it up with semen.

hmm. interesting. you sure it wasnt mixed in with ewcm?

I have to agree with Keria, my arousal fluid can get very strechy like ewcm.
I check for fluid by going in an finding it. I'm not squemish at all so it doesn't bother me. I actually check a few times a day when I am looking for fertile cm. I find it can change through out the day.

Thanks for the input. I am a little bit heavier than the normal girl. I am 5'9" and weight 200 pounds so alot of the time my CM does not make it to the undies because I end up peeing and wiping before. But let me say this, when I had my mirena I had EWCM all the time and alot of it. It was really weird now I am having a hard telling. Like yesturday I could have sworn it was creamy and then we DTD. After I had used the bathroom several times this morning I wiped and found a huge amount of it...............so I smelled and nothing i stretched and it stretched it was pretty much clear which my EWCM always has a little cloud to it. I stopped and said to myself I do not know what I am doing and that is when I posted. I will sometimes feel dry but just sitting here it feels like I am leaking or producing something to leak it feels wet down there. I think I am just going to have to get used to my body and start checking closer since its not showing up in the bathroom.

parts of the day I will be dry and others not so what do I put on FF?

ff says put your most fertile cm of the day (so o doesnt sneak up on you)

I have also seen arousal fluid that is very stretchy.

Personally, I check CM by wiping and sometimes by inserting a finger.

Ahh, only on the internet can we all be so graphic.

im not doubting ya, really, but are y'all talking about arousal fluid after orgasm? i have seen that around mid-cycle but it's ewcm that comes out with the contractions of the uterus and cervix. otherwise i guess if you are lucky enough to have stretchy arousal fluid, maybe it's like super arousal fluid and might help things out, yes?

I never check CM after DTD too many fluids mixed in there.

And yeah I'm pretty sure it is only arousal fluid because I get it at any time in my cycle, now after 18 months of examining cervical fluid I can tell the difference pretty quickly but when I was a TTC noob I was all OMG EWCM in CD5 does that mean I'm going to ovulate super early, but nah good ole arousal fluid.

No not after orgasm, usually during foreplay I can start feeling the production of arousal fluid.

Arousla fluid isthe fluid that gets you wet when you are aroused, again sorry for the TMI.

Yeah I dont check the fluid right after DTD, well i guess it depends what you mean right after. I usually dont count anything as fluid until 12 hours after DTD.
