Bible/Devotionals for Toddlers?

Someone I met in passing awhile back mentioned that she had a book of devotionals for young children... but I have no idea where to start looking for something like that. I have an 11 month old and a 25 month old and would really like to start reading them bible stories and doing little devotionals with them, all age appropriate of course. Are there any children's bibles out there aimed at the preschool-ish age group? bible story board books?

Hearts of Dakota Publishing makes a wonderful little first Bible, called A Child's First Bible. I also have their preschool program "Little Hands to Heaven" and it is really great!

My son who is almost 3 loves it! I highly recommend it. : )

Chely, if you did an amazon search I think you might find a lot of stuff! Mine are now 11 and 9, but we just had a few tiny board books about Jesus' parables that they cherished for years. Ill tell you something else. Those books are wonderful but what Ive found priceless is the fact that I knew those parables and the Gospels so well that I would just tell them myself. They loved to hear stories from the bible in my words. This was more as they got older, but not too much older then yours are now. Them seeing me praying and reading the bible, always having a bible around (I just always have since they were inutero).

I know you wanted advice about books and they really are great, but just be encouraged that even if you cant get hold of them, cant afford them or whatever, its the life you live and from your own mouth thats going to prove to be priceless.

hugs!!

Thanks Genifer I know a lot has to do with how I live, but my oldest is at this stage where he LOVES books and LOVES to be read to... he is also behind speech/language wise so we love to encourage him to read I think I will do some Amazon searching whilst the small people are napping today!

My kids are 4 and 3, and this is the one we have:

I really like it, and I think the kids do, too. I think it would be appropriate for a 2 & 1 year old.

I agree. I really enjoy this too, because dd and I are both sitting together with the 'full' word of God, reading and talking about it. Last night actually dh and I got talking about something and reading through Genesis 1. When dh left for an appointment, dd and I ended up reading, writing, and drawing/coloring Genesis 1:1-13! It was a lot of fun.
