I like names that mean something or meant to honor someone. Either Michael Stefan or Stefan Michael are great names IMO.

Yes, Michael was once very common, but it's not so much anymore. In six years of working in schools, I've had exactly two Michaels.

I agree with one syllable sounds better. My first thought was Stephan James.
