did/do you have a birth alter?

I'm just interested in what you put on it. Post a pic if you like.

I've got a little woman statue that looks a lot like this candle, a bear , a labyrinth tile from a local lady, along with a labyrinth pendant stone a friend gave me, a piece of quartz, some little bird beads and a beeswax lantern. I'd like to put some fresh flowers in the somewhere and some sea shells. It's on my bureau and my kids keep messing with it. I kind of want to put something in the bathroom too. I will straighten it up and post a pic tomorrow.

I've been working on gathering objects for mine, including a flag banner that I've papercrafting with birthy/goddess images and affirmations. Since this will be my last birth experience, I plan on incorporating things that have been important to me during my other labors like a candle in a particular scent, a rock, a labyrinth print, and a birthing statue. I'm sure I'll end up gathering other stuff, too, but for now that's the start I've made so far. I'd love to see pics of yours- and others- when you get a chance.

moving over to spirituality...

With dd1 I made the birth altar on our changing table. Little newborn diaper, flowers, my worry stone (that I'd bring to the birth to rub and as a focus), and a candle shaped like a very pregnant woman. I also made a small clay offering dish that looked like a pregnant woman sitting cross legged.... the "bowl" was her lap. During the pregnancy I put medical reports, pictures, birth books, and all that stuff there on and around the altar.

dd2- was my first vbac, so the pregnancy had some extra worry. I made an altar on my regular altar table with candles, a newborn dipe, birth beads, a mother/child icon, EO, my supplements, and my hypnobabies set on an mp3 player. Every evening I'd put some EO in a dish, hold my birth beads, and do my hypnobabies scripts. After the birth I actually put my peri-bottle on my altar too to "charge" it a bit for healing (I had a vbac, but tore).

ds- my second vbac! My altar was basically the same as for dd2, but this time I also made a treasure map for the babe and added that.
