Achy and sore

This happened after my last child was born and now I am going through it again. My muscles are so achy and sore and uncomfortable, especially after getting up from sitting for awhile. I feel like an old lady, when I gt up I can't stand straight right away. And it's mostly in my back, hips and legs. I wonder if I am still sore from birth, but it's been 2 months already. I haven't had time to get into yoga, and I keep forgetting to stretch before I walk, and I walk a lot. I was thinking glucosamine, but the women at our local health food store suggested something else first. I don't know what this is and it's freaking me out, cause my mom as arthritis and fybromialgia. Any suggestions?

How about some magnesium, calcium and potassium supplements for a few days. If they are going to work you should notice an improvement pretty quickly.

Are you nursing? Are you ergonomic about it? Motherhood is physically intense and it is often not ergonomic. If you've got funky posture, try fixing that. I prefer the my brestfriend pillow over the boppy for nursing because it can be adjusted to keep posture neutral for mom and prevent strain in the neck and shoulder girdle.

Also, are you co-sleeping and 'frozen' in one position all night because of the baby? That can cause aches and pains too.

Are you getting out for any exercise? Inactivity can cause aching.

What about a massage? That would get a lot of the kinks out.

2 months out from giving birth is still not that much time. You are still recovering. I wouldn't worry about fibro or arthritis just yet imo.
