What does you 3.5YO boy like to do

We are ready for a toy clear out. I think DS is board with quite a few of his toys and since it's car boot season I am looking for ideas.

We have lots of wooden train track which he likes, a few wooden cars which he plays with sometimes and a kitchen which both kids use. We also have planty of construction stuff, duplo, wooden blocks and stickle bricks.

I think we have some harder puzzles saved from DD.
We have lots of craft stuff which gets used a lot.

I would defiantly like to find some more dress up stuff, he's not so into fairy wings and tutus as DD, though he does still play with them.

We are all set for outside toys.

Give me some ideas, what do your boys like?

My 3.5 yr old son is really into pretend play - with me as his preferred partner, natch. So that doesn't require much in the way of toys/props. For dress up: funny or job hats, firefighter jacket, super hero cape, play silks, masks (Oriental Trading Company is great for cheap stuff). For toys, he generally wants construction trucks, or whatever is little sister is playing with, of course! Legos and other various kinds of building stuff (Wedgits, Clipo blocks, etc etc), and a pretend medical kit are also popular here. We have also started to play board games; we started with Candy Land.

My almost 4 yo plays with his diggers and trucks. He really likes his brio construction and moves his duplo and building blocks around. He will build a farm, or a skyscraper. For dress up with have a few hats - construction, fire fighter, pirate, cowboy and a Dr stethoscope and bandages. He will feed the animals on the farm, rescue toys from the skyscraper and doctor their injuries.
He goes through phases where he will play with his wooden trains or do jigsaw puzzles, but hasn't used his trains as much as I'd hoped he would. Outside he digs in the dirt constantly - its like having a dog with the all the holes he digs.

matchbox cars
dinosaurs/animals
robots
board games/card games
trio blocks or wooden blocks

just started playing with toy soldiers/lincoln logs, thats his new toy obsession.

doesn't really play with his brio train, but hate to get rid of it, or his bigger cars/trucks, musical intruments or stuffed animals.

honestly thats about all ds plays with, makes me think i need to get rid of some toys too! I actually plan to do that this afternoon.

Well I sorted out 2 boxes of outgrown toys from DSs room. Hopefully that will make it easier for him to get to the things he does like to play with. i think we have more toys than I thought!

I'm hoping to get back into setting up a starting point for him. eg I set out some play food, toy cash register etc and see what he does. It used to work well for DD but I've got out of the habit since she's now able to start things off herself.

I will still be looking out for a few bits and pieces so it;s nice to have a few suggestions.
