So I had a very full day yesterday, I am 32 weeks with twins today. Last night I was sitting at the computer, stalking all of your threads lol.

I stood up and noticed my feet were swollen, not my ankles they were only swollen a little bit, but my toes were swollen, like so swollen it felt tight to bed them, if that makes sense.

It got me thinking, I have been super hot too, dh even put on the air conditioning and wore a sweater, I was sweating. I am normally a cold person, My feet are always freezing.

I went to lay down early because it freaked me out a little, I felt ok really, just super hot and my feet bugged me because they felt so tight, I laid down, and noticed my fingers were fine.

I have never had anything like this happen before, I had ankle swelling with the last twins I carried, but not a huge amount.

So my questions are.. Is it normal for just your toes to swell? I think it was probably from doing so much during the day? Do you think the swelling and me getting so hot were connected?

Any input would be wonderful, I don't want to call my OB because I honestly feel much better today and the swelling has gone down a bunch.

My feet swelled up with DD if I was on my feet a lot and not staying hydrated enough... not ankles or anything, just feet.

My feet would swell so that my birkenstocks left huge indents on the tops of my feet. Ugh.

I had that with my daughter... though eventually it turned into my feet, my ankles, and I had pitting edema on my legs. I was so very uncomfortable at the end with her.

Yep. My flipflops were leaving indentations towards the end there. My ankles were swollen, too, but my feet were definitely swollen. I couldn't bend my toes.

I had that with my 2nd son (who was almost 10 pounds at birth) I got so swollen that I could only fit in flipflops. It is much worse, I think with a lot of walking or sitting with feet on the ground -- better if feet get elevated for long periods of time.

Yes, my toes and feet swell, especially when I'm hot and not well enough hydrated. Just yesterday, our a/c went out, and it got too hot in the house. I noticed my feet swelling then. Typically I can tell if I'm having any swelling at all based on whether my toes look long and skinny or wide. But, I've never had any major problems associated with it.

Rest up, drink up, and don't worry!

I'm on my 4th pregnancy, and I've never had much swelling before, even at the height of summer. But a couple times in the past two weeks, I have had swollen feet. The first time it was just one foot, and I thought it was injured. But this past weekend it was both feet. There was reason, as I was on my feet ALL day and very busy... but, still... I was only 18 weeks and it was not particularly hot out! So I'm a little worried about what's going to happen this summer in the swollen feet department.

I agree with some dehydration and being on your feet all day it's not surprising, I've even had that happen a bit when not pregnant.

I got some swelling with my international flight a few days ago but it went away after lying down to sleep overnight and getting plenty of water.
