Dying a store-bought wool soaker?

I have a couple aristocrat-like soakers... these: http://www.maternitycorner.com/miva/merchant.mv?Screen=PR...

Anyone have experience with dying one that’s already made? I’m considering it, because frankly, I think it’s boring when it’s just plain “natural” colored.

I’d love to see pics if anyone’s ever done that before…

Also, would I have to strip off the lanolin to do that or would I be able to dye it while it's still lanolized?

Dyeing an aristocrat should not be a problem.

However, I'd clean it well first, in order to avoid patchy spots.

strip then dye... the thread my be polyester which won't take dye, you could end up with white seams. (or not if they assembled it with wool)

How do i strip it? I've always been more interested in lanolizing than stripping. LOL

A warmish wash with dish detergent should do the trick.
