DD was being silly so DH decided to be silly too. DH didn't give DD enough credit for understanding what he was saying. Here's the conversation:

DH: Wanna go night-night?

DD: NO

DH: Will you ever say yes?

DD: NO!!

DH: Do you want your sippy?

DD: NO!!!!!

DH: (now confident she will say no to anything) Do you want a cookie?

DD: Cookie!!!

Kids sure do follow closely what is being said when you think they are just playing.I have done similar scenarios with the kids when they were young.

Lol,did she get the cookie?

We didn't have any cookies so we gave her raisins. Luckily, at her age sweet is sweet and she didn't mind.

That is funny!

I remember when i worked at a daycare I was having some fun banter with a 2 yo..

i said "yes..y.e.s., yes.. can;t you spell?"

She said "n.o.p., nope"

we both thought that was SO witty..
