This is probably a fluke and mostly irrelevant, but I figured I'd mention it anyway just in case. I was being monitored for a number of issues from 30 weeks onwards, and low amniotic fluid was one of them. I'm a water-only kind of person, and I drink tons of it. At one point I noticed that I was getting nauseous after drinking water, almost as if I was drinking it faster than my stomach could handle, but I was still thirsty. I picked up some Pedialyte and started drinking a couple of glasses a day. That got expensive fast, so I switched to watered-down Gatorade. I've been doing this for about a month now and my fluid levels have been excellent. It's probably just a coincidence but I'm keeping it up just in case! Good luck and I hope things sort themselves out so you don't have to worry about making that decision.
If I were you I would drink Recharge (the Knudsen natural gatorade) or coconut juice. Lately I am endlessly thirsty and only this stuff helps; water doesn't cut it.
Best wishes to you mamma!!! I bet your babe is just fine and plenty juicy. But of course you need to be safe. Try some extra hydrating products in addition to regular water.
Looking forward to hearing about your great homebirth!
