eeck! it's getting so cold again!

i'm in portland area and we are headed into a few days of what sounds like November weather. ugh, it's late May!

anyway, i thought i was safe and put in all my tomatoes last weekend when it was 70+. so now my little plants are left to fend off this cold snap.
should I wrap them? mulch them? not worry about it?

i worry that mulching them will be too wet, the forecast calls for this to be a wet cold storm of course.

any ideas?

i'm doing a sundance if anyone cares to join me!

I'd cover them with a clear tarp, if you can. That will make a sort of mini-greenhouse for the plants that will help them save heat overnight. Make sure you stake it up so the plastic isn't resting on the plants, and weight the bottom so it doesn't blow away. The other idea that I've heard of (but havn't tried) is creating a heat sink for each plant. You either put a large container of water (gallon or 2 L bottles work well) or large rocks near the plants. These things absorb the heat during the day, and then give it off at night to help your plants. It is basically a cheep "wall of water". Maybe you could do both and weight the clear plastic down with water bottles. Hope they make it!
