anyone have a dog, and not have a fence? - Page 2

Definetly doable We live out in the country and don't have a fenced yard, but when we got Loki (mut from the pound) in college, we just had him on a run when we weren't around. Works fine!!

(Oh, and loki just runs around free 24/7 unless he's inside or we're playing with balls or theres somebody here working or something, in which case he's inside or in a dog pen

we have a pug and it took a while for our landlord to put up the fence. We used a cable and tie out, but she was usually only outside to go potty. She's a lazy, sit at your feet pug.

The fence is up now and I really prefer it. The cable did work better than a leash though. It takes her FOREVER to potty when she's on a leash and she'd run if she's unleashed. With a 2 year old (at the time) I didn't have several 30 minute blocks of time holding her on a leash to potty.

at our old house we did not have a fence. it was really hard because the pups were 100% dependent on us to go out! we were not able to just let them outside like you are going to so. if your up for the task then i say get the pup. i am sure he would love a home with you
