At what age did you night wean your LO?

We will not consider it until after the age of 1 year. But i'm curious to know, when did you all do it? Has anyone night weaned before the age of 1?

we nightweaned around 18-19 months. He did great, we followed the Jay Gordon method, but took a month instead of the 10 days he suggests.

We tried a few times between 20 and 26 months before it stuck, but when we were consistent, DD "got it" fairly quickly.

13-14 months. I so wanted to at 9-10 months, but I held out for that 1 year mark and then jumped in with both feet. I'm glad I did. Just those few months made such a difference and I feel like DD was ready for it.

12 months. It was time consuming for the first week, but she didn't freak out and cry or anything. She would just roll around, "talk" and take awhile to get resettled. I'm so glad we did though. I was a much happier momma after.

With my older dd, I waited until about 14-16 months and we were pretty gentle.

I nightweaned my ds a week after his 3rd birthday.

We're at 3 years, 3 months, and I haven't night weaned yet. I plan on doing child-led weaning, but I don't know if we will do child-led night weaning. Right now it is more convenient to nurse him than not, but we'll see. I'm thinking about night weaning over the summer possibly.

20 months but went VERY slow and started introducing the idea earlier by playing games during the day... turning light switches off, acting out going to sleep and that everyone sleeps at night even boobies sleep at night. It was fun and worked well at night to remind her "see? it's dark, mommy's sleeping, daddy's sleeping, and boobies are sleeping"

I think it was around their first birthday, not sure when exactly, but it was pretty painless. I would literally turn my back and tell them quietly "its not time yet, go back to sleep" and after a few nights they stopped waking up. My son was done in around 2 weeks and my daughter about the same. I knew they didn't need to nurse, they just wanted to nurse, so if it was available great, if not they didn't sweat it.

We actually day weaned first at 25 months and nightweaned shortly after at 25 months.

Around age 2... then had to re-do it 2 months later and a month after that, due to travel and illness. We still (at 2 1/2) nurse to sleep and first thing in the morning before getting out of bed in the morning. She still occasionally asks for nu-nus around 1-2 AM, but usually settles back to sleep with a pat on the back.

I think with the next kid I might aim for slightly earlier night weaning, around 18 months.

Ds1 - 14 months. Ds2 is 14 months now and I'm not going to nw any time soon, because he is a much better sleeper and I just don't have that desperate feeling.

We're doing it now at 22 months. I do not want to be up nursing 2 babies at night come October when the new baby is due. DD will be 27 months then and she's already a crappy sleeper, I'm hoping night weaning will help.

Around 10 months. I wanted to go longer, but I moved in with my parents for the year and since all our furniture was in storage (husband deployed) we got stuck with a small double bed that creaked a lot. It made it harder for the both of us to sleep. Luckily the crib is right next to my bed so we're still close together. He sleeps much better too!

My oldest sone doesn't count, lol, so I'll answer for my middle child - who's 5.5 now and still nursing. We didn't night wean him. He stopped night nursing somewhere around 3 years old and stopped nursing to sleep when he was 4 (because i was pregnant and ran out of milk). He falls asleep easily now and sleeps straight through the night almost every night.

DD is 34 months and we haven't nightweaned. She usually nurses once in the night, sometimes twice.

Mine is 17 months and hasn't night weaned yet. I've tried a few times, but either she isn't ready, or I'm not fed-up enough to make it happen. She usually wakes up once (maybe twice) to nurse. It is waaaay easier for me to nurse her than to do anything else. Actually, this is our only feed left now and I am curious to see how long it will last.
