What do you use for daycare dipes?

My ds will be starting w/ daycare in about 2 weeks. He's almost 2 (so may be potty training within 6 mo to a year) and he's LITTLE - only 22 lbs right now. I only mention that because one size dipes may not be worth the extra cost at this point.

What would you suggest for daycare dipes? How many would you suggest? We're a pf/cover type family, but that's probably not the best option for daycare...

TIA!

Honestly, we use disposables for day care. DD is only there 1 to 2 days a week, so I am not worried about it.

If I was dealing w/someone willing to try cloth, I would go the AIO route or send simple Aplix prestuffed pockets & a wet bag. Anything else I feel that you run the risk of user error leading to leaks leading to unwillingness to continue.

With regard to cost, you can get one size Nubunz for daycare that are only about $8 each, and they run biggish.

We haven't gotten there yet, but we will probably do prestuffed pockets. Pack on for every hour you'll be away. Seems like lots but better to be prepared.

I was thinking sized AIOs (the BG AIOs got good reviews so I got a couple to try). But honestly I am starting to think it may not be worth the battle with the day care. The AIOs take a really long time to dry and I'd have to wash them every night when I got home from work unless I wanted to shell out $$$ for a bunch of expensive AIOs that I won't use at home. I might just cave and do sposies like they want me to.

I hate the long dry time with AIO, so I think I'm down to AI2's or pockets. I just don't want to spend a bloody fortune. My kiddo will be in daycare from 8:30 to 5, 4 days a week (some weeks only 3 days/week). So I'm thinking 2 doz? Now I just have to decide on a dipe and prepare to part w/ my money.

We use prefolds and covers both at home and at daycare. What we do is trifold the prefold, place it in the cover seam side down and put in a liner. I send as many as he needs for the day (4 a day now at 17 months) along with a wet bag. We have to do laundry every other day (10 covers total) and we always wash all covers used at daycare because they get stinky being in a wet bag all day.

The trade off is that he has to wear a onesie every day. The onesie holds everything in place. If he doesn't have a onesie on, that diaper slips right off. My son is also small - 21 lbs.
