Favorite fluff?

Hope this is ok to post here. We haven't bought diapers in a while. DS is almost 3 and I built up our stash for him and then stopped. I'm so excited to buy a few new things! What are your favorites lately? I'm sooo out of the diaper loop. We'll prob go with fitteds and covers the first few months then move to pockets. I <3 WAHM dipes and usually buy those over 'commercial' ones.

We use prefolds with covers and love that setup... but I'd like to add some nicer doubler/liners for babe #2. We're using cut up fleece rectangles now, and some WAHM doublers that are kinda small. But I'd love to just lay down a single stay-dry doubler.

A wool cover or two for overnight would be next on my list...

I just bought a ton of fitteds and covers on Diaper Swappers. I think we will go that route until the babe fits in one-size diapers, then I love Bum Genius Organis OS and Rumparoos OS. I also have a bunch of prefolds from DD and I love the Thristies & Thirsties Duos covers.

I am a fitted and cover kind of girl myself! I really liked mother ease and bummis super bright with my 3 year old. This time I am having MIL make most of my dipes and I will knit a lot of covers. I bought a great wrap style knit pattern that I made when I mc in January, that will prolly be the first cover on this lo's bottom. It really helped me heal! I actually taught myself how to knit with that cover and now I LOVE to knit. I too find myself wanting to buy new fluff. (I did buy 2 diapers and 1 cover already) I really need to find a super good pattern for fitted diapers for my MIL to use. Please let me know if you know of a great one! I am willing to buy it if it is great!

I am so excited to cloth diaper again! I have no clue what the best is now. My daughter is almost 7 and my son almost 5 so it has been a while.

I did buy a very baby pattern when I was pregnant with my son and went through my fabric stash this week to weed out stuff I didn't want. I did find some cute fabrics that will make diapers so I should get on that.

With my other two I did enjoy pockets while we were out for the diaper bag. I also have a lot of prefolds and snappis. I am a better knitter now and I am starting on wool soakers too.

Seriously it saves a lot of money. Don't get me wrong WAHMs who make and sell soakers should get their moneys worth for their craft but if I can do it I am making it.

Speaking of Snappi's, beware of buying them on eBay! I read today on Diaper Swappers about fake "Snappy's" that are garbage!

DD is still wearing a diaper at night...she's 3 and I'm not quite sure how to transition her out of diapers at nighttime. We were buying pullups....because we were having issues with cloth giving her a rash. Well....now that I read mothering's cloth diaper article...I am investing in some larger prefolds with some covers...because I am NOT buying pullups or disposable diapers any more...ewww. So glad we used cloth w/ her as a babe!!!!

I am SO excited to cloth diaper the next baby! Seriously..I am just so excited.

Are you guys gonna use cloth even with the meconium poops? I was thinking I might get a package of 7th generation or something for the first week or something?

I didn't last time, but I think I will this time. My midwife told me to put olive oil on the baby's butt before she poos and it will slide right off the butt with a wipe. I remember last time I worried about her dipes getting ruined, but I am not sure how bad it will stain as it was all over the towel and blanket she was in when she was born and all over whatever I was wearing and there are no stains I could find. We used sposies the first week. This time we plan to fluff from the start.

We did 7th gen for the first two weeks. Of course we were a little intimidated by CD back then, and I felt like MIL shouldn't be made to do so much. But she's pretty good at CD by now, so maybe some flushable liners? I dunno, we'll probably just register for some 7th gen's and use however many of those we get.

YES! It works like a dream! When I had my son we actually schooled the nurses a bit. We had the little bottle of Weleda baby oil in his bassinet to change his diapers. They were amazed when we showed them how it worked and one nurse mentioned she was going to buy some for the new parents.

Won't the olive oil ruin the diapers though?

I started using coconut oil on DD's bum...but I think that's what started us down the path of having diaper issues!

I was thinking of using these with every CD change. We live in an apartment and it would be *way* expensive and a PITA to run the dipes through 2 wash settings. DS was CD'd but I never tried the liners. I had a real problem with diaper stink last time when I used the laundromat.

I'm knitting a bunch of covers. I can't wait to try the longies pattern on the LTK website. I'd like to do fitteds under the wool. I don't have newborn or small CD's, so I'll either get fitteds, flats, or prefolds. There are too many overwhelming options for CD'ing!
