baby trying to stand in SSC

I have an Action baby carrier, similar to an ergo or beco, and a 2 month old. I try froggy-legging him, but then he tries to push his legs and "stand" up, resulting in either his head popping up too high and thus unsupported, or him pushing the waistband down to where it gets slightly loose and then his feet get wedged in there.
Is it too young to do split legs? I try, but they're just too small to stretch, it seems, and if I do, he manages to wiggle them back in and do the above. maybe when his legs are longer and poking out the sides he can't get them back in, but I'm at a loss in the interim..

suggestions on what I need to change? Maybe I just need to wait to use this carrier?

I think this was the age that I stopped frogging my son's legs in his wrap. He love just sticking them out the side, even though that's recommended for 3 mos and up.

The only draw back is that they look so grown up when they do that!

The ergo is really wide to do the split leg on a small baby. Do you have a wrap to try?

I do have a wrap, but he absolutely hates facing inward in the wrap- will only do pouch-style with it.
I tried split legged again with the SSC and as long as I was outside and walking, he did fine, though his little toes barely poke out. He slept through a 45 minute walk without squirming.
Thanks for mentioning its 3 months and up.. I was curious.

FWIW my DS went through a phase where he wanted to stand and face out in the Ergo. I let him - I had to support him with 1 hand, so it wasn't hands free, but at least his weight was off my arms and supported by the carrier. He would get tired eventually and I would turn him around and let him sleep facing me. He seems to be getting over this now, although he still likes to face out.
